Torq Softdeck Eva V+ Surfboard Grey
Torq Mod Fun EVA Soft Top Surfboard
The Torq Surfboards Mod Fun EVA Soft Top is not your average foamie. It blends real surfboard performance with the confidence and forgiveness of a soft deck, making it ideal for progressing beginners and intermediate surfers who want durability without sacrificing manoeuvrability.
Built using Torq’s advanced EPS/Epoxy construction and finished with a soft EVA outer skin, this board bridges the gap between surf-school foam boards and traditional hard epoxy surfboards.
The Construction
Torq’s EVA Soft Top technology combines:
-
Lightweight EPS core
-
Biaxial fibreglass cloth
-
High-strength Epoxy resin
-
Soft, durable extruded EVA deck and rails
-
Integrated Futures fin boxes
-
Supplied with a Futures thruster fin set
In simple terms: this is a proper epoxy surfboard underneath, with a soft outer skin for added safety and confidence. You get strength, responsiveness and durability, while reducing the risk of knocks to yourself or others in the water.
The Shape
The Mod Fun sits firmly in the performance mid-length category — not a soft mini-mal, and not a basic learner board.
-
Medium-full nose for paddle power and early wave entry
-
Shallow mid-entry rocker for speed and glide
-
Generous volume for smaller, softer waves
-
Thruster setup for control and progression
It paddles easily, catches waves early, and feels stable underfoot — but when the surf picks up, it responds. Step onto the tail above the fins and the board tightens up, delivering proper drive and manoeuvrability.
This is where the Mod Fun separates itself from standard softboards.
Who Is It For?
-
Confident beginners ready to move beyond a surf-school foamie
-
Intermediate surfers wanting a durable everyday board
-
Riders who want performance without worrying about dings
-
Surfers sharing waves in busy line-ups
It’s slightly less forgiving than a pure foam board, but far more versatile long-term. You won’t outgrow it the moment you start turning.
